Pro Tips for Application:
- Black Button is typically most effective on what’s known as a “winter nose” — where a nose that is normally black fades to a lighter brown over the colder months.
- Make sure the nose is completely dry before applying the product. Any moisture can prevent proper adhesion. We recommend gently holding a piece of paper towel just under the lip while drying and applying, to discourage licking during the process.
- First apply step #1 with a cotton swab and allow to dry. Then apply step #2 with a fresh cotton swab.
- Use a fresh Q-tip for each bottle to avoid cross-contamination between steps.
- Apply very thin layers. A common mistake is putting too much product on at once, making it look wet and diluting the steps. After dipping the Q-tip, I gently wipe the edge of the bottle to remove the excess, then apply a light coat and let it dry for about 10 seconds before moving to the next layer.
- Be patient and layer. On a nose like your puppy’s, it may take two or even three thin layers to get the best possible result.
